Three Guys

Three Guys

Have you ever had to stand up for something alone?  Have you ever had to stand up for Jesus by yourself?  Perhaps knowing most people, you are speaking to do not agree.  We are so thankful to God that we live in a country where we can state our faith without Fear of being chained up.  We know that many of us are reluctant to openly speak of Jesus, to others at work, or at a local gathering.

The three faithful guys in the Old Testament were very brave.  Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were hauled before the king because they refused to bow down before his golden image – and they were sentenced to the fiery furnace.  When the king warned them of the deadly consequences of their actions, the three guys responded with “O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.  If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.  But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.”  (Daniel 3:16-18)

Wow!  These are faithful people.  Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego said, “Even if it costs us our lives we will not bow down.”  The king was so enraged he ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than normal.  The fire was so hot it killed soldiers who threw Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego into it.  In Psalm 68:20, it says, “And to God the Lord belongs escape from death.”  God provided that escape for these three faithful servants.

When Nebuchadnezzar looked into the furnace, he jumped up and asked his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?  I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire and they are not hurt!!  And the form of the fourth is like a son of the gods!  Then Nebuchadnezzar came near the mouth of the burning fiery furnace and said, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, you servants of the Most High God, (Nebuchadnezzar started to speak respectfully all of a sudden)  “Come out and come here.”  They came out of the fire and the deputies, the governors, and the king’s counselors all gathered around and saw these men.  THE FIRE HAD NO POWER OVER THEIR BODIES, NOT WAS THE HAIR ON THEIR HEADS SINGED.  NEITHER WERE THEIR GARMENTS DAMAGED, NOT HAD THE SMELL OF SMOKE CLUNG TO THEM.  (Daniel 3:24-27)

In the New Testament, Peter was delivered from Prison, we again see angels at work in Acts 12, James had been killed and Herod was planning to kill Peter the next day.  “And, behold the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shone in the prison, and he poked Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, arise up quickly.  And his chains fell off from his hands.”  Peter was a man of faith.  If you thought they were going to cut your head off the next morning, I doubt you would be sleeping so soundly that an angel had to wake you up.  The angle told Peter to get his shoes on and follow him.  “When they were past the first ward and then the second ward, they came to the iron gate that leadeth to the city.”  (verse 10)  When you are dealing with angels, natural hinderances are nothing.  THE CHAINS JUST FELL OFF PETER.

Another thing about angels is they have supernatural, superhuman strength.  The word says they “excel in strength, that do HIS commandments, harkening unto the VOICE of HIS WORD.

When yo0u speak out God’s word of deliverance, the angels assigned to you to work to bring that WORD to pass.

I don’t think it’s any exaggeration to say that each of us here today is facing some kind of problem.  Some kind of trouble we can’t escape without the help of God.  It could be a disease, financial problem, or a family crisis.  Whatever the devil has built up, GOD has promised to deliver you from.  Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivereth him out of them ALL.  (Psalm 34:19)

How?  Through angels.  God gives His angels charge over you.  He charges them to protect you…to keep you…to minister to you.  If you are an heir of salvation, angels are sent out in service to you, and their ministry can literally be a lifesaver.  (Hebrews 1:14)  Do not provoke your angels.  (Exodus 23:21-23)

How do you provoke your angles?  By speaking things that are contrary to the Word of God.  By saying things like, “They’re going to kill me, I’m afraid…I’m sick…I hate…I can sin or lie, no one will know…harboring unforgiveness.

Your words either turn your angels free to work for you or force them to sit helplessly while the evil one torments you.  If you haven’t been getting the action you want in your finances, your health, or any other area, the first place to look is right in your own mouth.  Don’t blame your spouse, your pastor, your parents.

There is no shortage of angel power.  There are trillions of angels.  If there is a shortage in your life at all, it’s a shortage of WORD POWER, the Bible.

Put scripture I your heart and your words.  Give your angels the WORD to protect you.  Remember your great salvation.  Remember God’s WORDS and promises.  SPEAK THEM.

If we, the sons of God, would only realize how close these ministering angels are, what calm assurance we could have in facing the difficult times of life.  While we do not place our faith directly in angels, we should place it in the GOD who rules the angels, then we can have PEACE.

The narrative of the manly courage and marvelous deliverance of the three holy guys or rather champions is well calculated to excite in the minds of believers.  Firmness and steadfastness in upholding the truth in the teeth tyranny and in the very jaws of death.  Let the young Christians especially, learn from their example, both in matters of faith in religion and matters of uprightness in business, NEVER to sacrifice their consciences.  Lose all rather than lose your integrity, and when all else is gone, still hold fast a clear conscience as the rarest jewel which can adorn the chest of a mortal.

FOLLOW THE RIGHT AT ALL HAZARDS.  When you see no present advantage, walk by faith and not by sight.  Do GOD the honor to trust Him when it comes to matters of loss for the sake of principle.  See whether He will be your debtor!   See if He doth not even in this life prove this word that “Godliness, with contentment, is great gain and that they who seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, shall have all these things added to them.

Should it happen that, in the providence of God, you are a loser of conscience, you shall find that if the Lord pays you not back in the silver of earthly prosperity.  He will discharge HIS Promise in the Gold of Spiritual Joy.  Remember that a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of that which he possesseth.  To wear a guileless spirit, to have a heart void of offence, to have the favour and smile of God, is greater riches than the mines of Ophir could yield, or the traffic of Tyre could win.

God’s word is where you learn His ways of doing and making right choices.  He’s where you find the wisdom you need to operate in the Kingdom.  You can’t get that wisdom from the world – the world does things the wrong way.

God’s wisdom is as far above the world’s ways as the heavens are higher than the earth.”  (Isaiah 55:9)
